Join us for the 38th Annual Reenactment of the Battle of Olustee. Fought on Feb. 20, 1864, Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park is commemorating the 150-year anniversary of the Battle of Olustee. Full-scale artillery, mounted cavalry and three African American regiments took part in the battle that ended with 2,807 casualties and a Confederate victory.
As Florida’s first state park, Olustee Battlefield prides itself in the reenactment. Throughout the weekend, more than 2,000 demonstrators will present living history impressions of military and civilian life at the time of Florida’s largest Civil War battle. The reenactment of a Civil War battle will take place on Saturday at 3:30 pm, whereas the Battle of Olustee Reenactment will begin at 1:30 pm on Sunday.
Period music concerts, crafts, lectures, battlefield surgical practice and the lives of black and white civilians during the war will be portrayed.
The event reenactment will take place on Friday, Feb. 14, Saturday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 16 from 8 am to 5 pm.
